Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in collaboration with the healthcare team. The role emphasizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and active participation in performance and quality improvement.

Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an RN license valid in Virginia or a reciprocal state, with BSN preferred and BLS/ACLS responses within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
• AHA ACLS Provider required within 60 days of hire
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to health team members.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Orient new permanent and temporary staff members.
• Serve as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Engage in daily operational activities for safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
