Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of experience processing complex trays of surgical instruments or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, process, sterilize and assemble complex arrangements of surgical instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Prioritize instrument and supply needs based on scheduled surgeries and ongoing cases.
• Identify and sort contaminated instruments and equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble items with multiple parts.
• Recognize disassembled parts and reassemble or return to trays.
• Determine and use appropriate decontamination procedures.
• Disassemble and decontaminate equipment using approved cleaners and methods.
• Collect and dispose of large volumes of biohazardous waste from procedures.
• Inspect, test, reassemble, and label instrumentation and equipment.
