Job summary

Depending on experience and licensure, the position may be filled at Health Information Coder level I or level III, with opportunities to work overtime as needed. Employment is subject to background checks.

Qualifications

• Completion of AHIMA or AAPC accredited coding program with certification.
• CPC, RHIT or RHIA credentials required.
• Minimum 3 years surgical coding experience and 6 months outpatient coding.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD and CPT codes for ancillary and surgical services.
• Assign APCs for patient accounts and CPTs for professional records for billing.
• Abstract coded data into abstracting information system.
• Enter data into electronic databases for quality, outcome analysis, and financial management.
