Job summary

A healthcare organization in San Bernardino is seeking a Coder 2-HIM to perform ICD and CPT coding and ensure data quality for multiple facilities. Candidates must have a Coding Certificate or Associate's Degree, with at least three years of coding experience, ideally in Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery. Certification as a CCS, RHIA, or RHIT is also required. The position offers a recruitment incentive of up to $3000 based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Completion of Coding Certificate program or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management required.
• Minimum three years of coding experience required, preferably in Inpatient coding and/or Outpatient Surgery coding.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with coding guidelines.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of abstracted information.
• Performs Inpatient and/or Outpatient Surgery coding.
• Collaborates with students and coding interns.

Skills

Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Ability to read, write, and speak English professionally

Proficient with computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent communication skills

Education
