Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Surgical First Assistant to support the Ortho/Neuro Operating Room in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Under surgeon supervision, you will assist with exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and intraoperative tasks across orthopedic and neuro procedures.

Responsibilities include room prep, instrument handling, maintaining sterility, assisting in draping, positioning patients, and post-procedure tasks while collaborating with the surgical

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with SFA training.
• CSFA or CSA certification with at least two years as a First Assist.
• BLS certification and CSA/CSFA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Assist in exposure and hemostasis during procedures.
• Drape and prepare skin; assist in wound closure.
• Maintain sterility and instrument counts.
• Transport patients to the OR and position them.
• Decontaminate instruments and handle equipment.
