Job summary

Voll Recruiting is helping a Surgical First Assistant group in Arlington, VA recruit for a CSA/CSFA or RNFA to join a dedicated robotic surgery team.

You will provide first-assist support during robotic procedures across OB/GYN, urology, and general surgery, with potential involvement in orthopedics and plastics. Strong upward mobility exists within the group as you gain experience and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active CSA (Certified Surgical Assistant) or CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) credential with VA license or eligibility.
• RNFA candidates: active RN license in the DMV area.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-assist support during robotic surgery in OB/GYN, urology, and general surgery.
• Assist in orthopedics and plastics if desired.
• Cover robotics cases at one hospital per day in Arlington, VA and DMV area.

Job description

A Surgical First Assistant group is seeking a CSA, CSFA or RNFA within the Arlington, VA and DMV area to join their dedicated robotic surgery team. Opportunity to cover robotics cases within OB/GYN, urology and general surgery.

The role

• Provide first-assist support during robotic surgery cases within OB/GYN, urology and general surgery. Opportunity to assist in orthopedics and plastics if desired.
• Established surgical services organization with a consistent case mix and a stable weekly schedule
• First assistants here move into management roles over time, so there is upward mobility within the group and growth opportunity if desired

Schedule

• Option for 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts.
• Flexibility with weekly schedule. Employees are able to provide their desired hours and daily availability.
• Call rotation with team members at level 2 trauma center. Overtime and standby pay offered.
• Providing surgical first assist support at 1 hospital per day primarily in the Arlington, VA and DC area.

Compensation and benefits

• Hourly rate range $55 - $75/hr based on experience. Standby pay available.
• Quarterly bonus opportunity based on utilization
• Benefits available with averaging 20hr/per week
• Time and half offered above 40 hours per week.
• Health insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and malpractice coverage (minimum average 20 hours per week)
• Relocation stipend offered as well as sign on bonus
• 1099 PRN arrangements are also considered.

What we are looking for

• Active CSA (Certified Surgical Assist) or current CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) credential with active Virginia license or eligibility.
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) candidates: active RN license within the DMV area.
• Robotic surgery first-assist experience with the da Vinci robotic and with laparoscopic cases.
• Experience across OB/GYN, urology and general surgery cases.
• Comfortable as the first assistant working alongside the operating surgeon.

Surgical first assistants across the DMV area, including Washington DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Rockville, Fairfax, Tysons, Baltimore and Annapolis, are encouraged to apply.
