Indiana University Health is seeking Surgical Enhanced Technologists to support surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. You will ensure sterile field, handle equipment, assist surgeons, and train colleagues to maintain safe operating room practices.
The role emphasizes teamwork with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists in a dynamic environment. Required qualifications include HS diploma or GED, NBSTSA CST, Basic Life Support, and at least 1 year of OR experience, plus 19 hours of
Surgical Enhanced Technologists provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assists in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation. Provides assistance to the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. Assists in the turnover of the operating room after the procedure ensuring proper routing and/or processing of all specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues with less experience.
