Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide perioperative care in the Surgery Department and support OR teams while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety during procedures.

The position requires five years of OR scrub experience or a CST certification with 15 years of surgical tech practice, CPR certification, and leadership training preferred. A Bachelor’s in leadership is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
• Current certification as a surgical technologist or 15 years of surgical tech experience.
• Bachelor's degree in leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest standard of care for the perioperative patient.
• Coordinate, facilitate and manage department orientation for new teammates and students.
• Teach and facilitate teammate learning in the operating room setting.
• Aid in the advancement of clinical skills throughout the surgical setting.
• Collaborate with leadership to assess educational needs for the surgical team and develop plans.
• Utilize adult education principles to plan, design, and implement educational activities.
• Assist in annual competency assessments for teammates.
• Serve as clinical resource for Surgical Services teammates.
• Participate in Performance Improvement Process.

Education

Surgical technology certification

Five years operating room experience (scrub role)

Leadership degree preferred
