Qualifications

• Strong medical terminology, anatomy and surgical procedures knowledge.
• 1–2 years of surgical or anesthesia coding in a hospital setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using using EHR and coding software.
• Strong communication and team collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Code surgical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS.
• Review clinical documentation for correct code selection.
• Collaborate with surgeons and staff to ensure complete coding information.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
• Audit and review patient records for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure prompt submission of coded data for billing and reimbursement.
• Handle confidential patient information with discretion.
