Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of professional medical coding experience, including surgical coding.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Surgical coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for professional surgical services based on chart review.
• Evaluate documentation for medical necessity, completeness, and coding accuracy.
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.
• Identify undercoding, overcoding, and unbundling issues and address them.
