Job summary

Integrative Emergency Services, LLC (IES) is seeking a certified Medical Coding Specialist with emphasis on surgical services. The role involves accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II code assignment, documentation review, and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines.

Work will be Hybrid at 4835 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas, TX, 75244. The candidate should have at least five years of professional medical coding experience, active AAPC or AHIMA certification, and strong surgical coding

Qualifications

• High-level knowledge of general surgery terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology.
• Strong CPT, HCPCS II, and ICD-10-CM coding knowledge.
• Experience in surgical practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital settings.
• Ability to evaluate documentation for medical necessity and coding compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for professional surgical services.
• Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and medical necessity.
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.
• Identify undercoding/overcoding and unbundling; apply modifiers correctly.
• Audit coding accuracy through reports, focused reviews, and projects.
• Stay current on coding updates and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with providers and leadership to improve coding specificity.
• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks.
