Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for professional surgical services.
• Evaluate medical records for code accuracy and medical necessity.
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS, payer guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Identify undercoding, overcoding, and unbundling issues and apply modifiers correctly.
• Conduct claim reviews to support clean submissions and reduce denials.
• Audit coding accuracy and review payer policies to stay current on changes.
• Collaborate with providers to improve documentation and coding specificity.
• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks set by the department.
