Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional medical coding experience.
• Strong surgical coding experience required.
• Active coding certification through AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS-P).

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for professional surgical services.
• Evaluate records for medical necessity and accuracy.
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.
• Identify undercoding, overcoding, and unbundling issues.
• Review payer policies and stay current on coding updates.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation.
• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks.
