Job summary

Integrative Emergency Services (IES) is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor with emphasis on surgical services. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of professional medical coding experience.
• Strong surgical coding experience required.
• Active coding certification through AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS-P).

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for surgical services.
• Evaluate records for medical necessity and coding accuracy.
• Ensure CMS and payer guideline compliance.
• Identify undercoding, overcoding, and unbundling issues.
• Apply correct modifiers and payer selections.
• Review claims to support clean submissions and reduce denials.
• Audit coding accuracy via reports and focused reviews.
• Stay current on coding updates and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with providers to improve documentation and coding specificity.
• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks.
