Job summary

Alteva RCM is seeking a Coding Auditor to conduct routine coding audits across specialties, assess documentation accuracy, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements. You will work with the Senior Coding Auditor and Coding Audit Manager to deliver high-quality findings and support corrective actions.

The role requires CPMA plus CPC/CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials, 5+ years of surgical coding and audit experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Active CPMA and one or more of CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA credentials required.
• Minimum 5+ years of surgical coding experience with at least 1 year in coding audits; 2+ years preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); reporting/data analysis tools a plus.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Audit Execution: conduct routine coding audits across specialties and client accounts; assess accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluate the relationship between clinical documentation and codes; verify code selection and sequencing.
• Apply coding guidelines, modifiers, and payer requirements; support determinations with references.
• Complete audit volumes within turnaround and quality standards; escalate complex cases.
