Job summary

Layton Surgery Center in Layton, UT is seeking a Circulating Nurse to support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. This role requires maintaining a sterile environment, attention to detail, and strong clinical judgment.

The circulating nurse will prepare the OR, coordinate with anesthesia, document perioperative events, and ensure patient safety. Candidates should hold RN licensure, ACLS, BLS, and have 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification is required.
• 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred in hospital/ASC.
• Registered Nurse licensure required in Utah; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Familiarity with sterile techniques and surgical procedures is essential.
• Experience in operating room or surgical nursing is preferred.
• Strong ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with EHR systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Monitor the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist in positioning the patient safely before the surgery.
• Verify patient information and surgical site before the procedure begins.
• Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the patient’s chart.
• Coordinate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety.
• Manage the flow of the operating room and anticipate the surgical team’s needs.
• Handle specimens taken during surgery and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
