Job summary

Henderson Hospital in Texas is seeking an inpatient transport assistant to help promote efficiency in the Surgery department. You will assist with the transport of patients during admission, transfer, and discharge, and help prepare beds for new admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers or emergencies.

You will maintain patient confidentiality, respond to questions from patients and visitors, follow safety and infection control guidelines, and assist with positioning and transfers in

Qualifications

• Preferred knowledge of Surgery Procedures.
• Minimum of 6 months of recent general medical experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• BLS certification is required.
• Commitment to compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and policies.
• High School diploma or GED or higher education required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transport of patients during admission, transfer, and discharge to promote department efficiency.
• Prepare beds for admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers, or emergencies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respond to questions from patients and visitors.
• Adhere to patient safety and infection control guidelines, including PPE use.
• Support positioning and transfer of patients in the OR under RN/MD direction.
