Job summary

Henderson Hospital is seeking staff to support the Surgery department with patient transport, bed preparation, and safety and infection control duties. The role involves assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges, while maintaining confidentiality and responding to patient and visitor inquiries.

Responsibilities include helping position patients in the OR under guidance from nurses and physicians, and ensuring PPE and isolation protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or higher required.
• Minimum 6 months of general medical experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Basic knowledge of good body mechanics.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of team members.
• BLS certification required.
• Commitment to hospital compliance and conduct policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transport and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Assist in bed preparation for admissions, transfers, and emergencies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respond to questions promptly.
• Adhere to patient and general safety guidelines and infection control practices.
• Utilize PPE correctly and follow isolation protocols.
• Assist with positioning and transfer of patients in the OR under RN/MD direction.
