Southcoast Health in Wareham, MA is seeking a Surgical Booking Specialist to manage the scheduling of surgeries and non-surgical procedures for a multi-specialty practice. The role requires maintaining calendars, coordinating with OR staff, and ensuring payer approvals.

Qualified candidates should have an Associate’s degree or equivalent, knowledge of medical terminology, CPR certification, and influenza/COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption).

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field or equivalent education and experience is required.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology is required.
• Over three years up to five years experience in a medical office is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or be exempt with signed exemption statement.

Responsibilities

• Manage surgical scheduling and all non-surgical procedures for a multi-specialty practice.
• Maintain surgical calendar and templates; keep surgeons' calendars in Outlook.
• Collaborate with OR staff to avoid scheduling conflicts and coordinate with third-party payers for approvals.
• Submit for authorization of CPT/ICD-9 codes billed and discuss financial options for patients without insurance.
