Job summary

Southcoast Health in Wareham, MA is seeking a Surgical Booking Specialist to manage complex surgical scheduling and related non-surgical procedures ordered by providers.

You will maintain calendars, coordinate with OR staff, and ensure approvals with third-party payers while handling CPT/ICD-9 coding and patient financial options. The role requires an associate degree and CPR certification. Day shift, 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
• Over three years up to and including five years experience in a medical office required.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex surgical scheduling and all non-surgical procedures ordered by providers.
• Maintain surgical calendar and templates for all providers.
• Coordinate with hospital OR staff to ensure continuity and avoid scheduling conflicts.
• Review and submit for authorization CPT/ICD9 codes that will be billed.
• Provide financial options for patients without insurance coverage.
