Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Assistant to support the perioperative team as the surgeon's assistant. The role may also involve acting as a first or second surgical tech or second circulator under RN supervision. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Required education includes an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology with CSA certification or exempt status based on prior experience. BLS is required, and 3+ years of surgical assisting experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required in a relevant field.
• Surgical Technology field of study.
• CSA certification or exemption depending on prior role.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis.
• Demonstrates competency in technical and psychomotor skills and knowledge.
• Provides care to obstetrical patients per department policies.
• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains safe environment and adheres to policies.
• Performs scrub duties and preceptor duties as needed.
• Manages room turnover and assists with supply ordering/inventory.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure readiness.
• Participates in quality improvement and infection control as needed.
