Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed.
• Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment following aseptic principles.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient workflow.
• Facilitates communication between the unit and other departments.
• Records data and documents per unit standards.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests and appointments as needed.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and prepares them for transport.
• Maintains accurate patient records and logs.
• Assists with supply ordering and inventory control.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to prepare trays and instrumentation.
