Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Assistant to support perioperative teams in the operating room. The role includes scrubbing, assisting surgeons, and maintaining aseptic standards under RN supervision.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology, NCCSA CSA certification, and BLS within 30 days. Experience with five major services is preferred and sign-on plus relocation bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology is required.
• CSA NCCSA certification is required.
• BLS within 30 days per AHA.
• Surgical assisting training in at least five major services with 3+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique to keep a sterile field.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
• Upholds safety and compliance with hospital policies.
• Applies anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Performs scrubbing duties as needed and assists with room turnover.
• Performs preceptor duties and assists in training.
• Charges for equipment and supplies.
• Supports supply ordering and inventory control.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to prep trays and instruments.
• Participates in Quality Improvement and Infection Control activities.
