Job summary

NorthShore Center for Oral & Facial Surgery in Skokie, IL, is seeking a dedicated dental assistant to support a high-tech practice. The role includes preparing operatory rooms, assisting the oral surgeon, handling intake and documentation, and maintaining sterile technique to ensure patient safety.

You will stock rooms, manage instrument inventory, scan films, and contribute to an exceptional patient experience while staying CPR certified and aligned with our commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred or required.
• Experience in dental or medical assisting is a plus.
• Ability to maintain sterile technique and follow OSHA/CDC standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms for all operative procedures
• Turn over room in efficient manner
• Seat patients and assist with intake and documentation, including medical history and consent forms
• Stock/restock room with instruments prior to each procedure
• Sterilize operatory and instrumentation after each patient according to OSHA / CDC standards
• Monitor schedule changes and prioritize actions accordingly
• Take and scan dental films using office equipment
• Assist Oral Surgeon during treatment procedures
• Maintain CPR Certification

POSITION SUMMARY: The scope of work encompasses a variety of clinical duties which promote effective and efficient operation of the practice and fosters favorable public relations with patients, staff, and referring doctors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up rooms for all operative procedures
• Turn over room in efficient manner.
• Seat patients and assist with intake and documentation, including medical history and consent forms.
• Stock/restock room with instruments prior to each procedure.
• After each patient, sterilize operatory and instrumentation according to OSHA / CDC standards.
• Be aware of schedule changes, and other procedures progress in order to prioritize actions.
• Utilize office equipment by taking and scanning films
• Assist Oral Surgeon during treatment procedures.
• Maintain CPR Certification.
