Job summary

Absolute Dental in Las Vegas is seeking an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced surgical team and deliver exceptional patient care. The role involves assisting surgeons during procedures, preparing operatories, and maintaining strict infection control.

Responsibilities include radiography, patient prep and monitoring, and thorough documentation of treatment plans and imaging. CPR/BLS certification and experience with Dentrix are preferred to support a smooth, compliant workflow.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year clinical experience in dental/medical setting (Dental Assistants preferred)
  • CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong infection control and patient care standards
  • Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Oral Surgeons during procedures including extractions, wisdom teeth removal, implant placement, and bone grafting
  • Prepare and break down operatories; maintain sterile environment and infection control
  • Take and process diagnostic images (PANO, CBCT if applicable) and chart procedures
  • Prepare patients pre-operatively, provide post-operative instructions, and monitor during recovery
  • Follow OSHA/HIPAA guidelines and ensure preparedness of operatories

Job description

Oral Surgery Dental Assistant :

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced surgical team and help deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
  • Assist Oral Surgeons during procedures including:
    • Simple and surgical extractions
    • Wisdom teeth removal
    • Dental implant placement
    • Bone grafting and membrane procedures
  • Prepare and break down operatories for surgical cases
  • Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are properly prepared
Patient Care
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including reviewing medical history and vital signs
  • Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions
  • Monitor patients during procedures and recovery
  • Ensure a calm, supportive, and positive patient experience
Radiography & Documentation
  • Take and process diagnostic images (PANO, CBCT if applicable)
  • Accurately chart procedures and update patient records
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete prior to surgery, including:
    • Treatment plans
    • Referrals
    • Imaging
    • Medical clearances (when needed)
Compliance & Safety
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines
  • Maintain CPR/BLS certification
  • Ensure clean, safe, and fully prepared operatories
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a dental or medical setting
    (Dental Assistants preferred, Medical Assistants strongly encouraged to apply)
  • CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of infection control and patient care standards
  • Familiarity with dental or medical software (e.g., Dentrix or similar systems)
Preferred Experience
  • Oral surgery or surgical assisting experience
  • Exposure to:
    • IV sedation monitoring
    • Implant procedures
    • Bone grafting cases
  • Experience working with specialty referrals (oral surgery, perio, etc.)
