Job summary

Allied OMS is a doctor-owned MSO in the oral and maxillofacial space seeking a Surgical Assistant to support daily operations and the surgical team. You will help with patient preparation, intraoperative needs, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment while upholding clinic protocols and HIPAA standards.

The role involves assisting with nitrous oxide, taking X-rays and cone beam CT, and educating patients about post-operative care. Strong multi-tasking and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Assist with dental and medical procedures according to OSHA and office procedures.
• Maintain CPR certification and any current dental assistant certifications.
• Instruct patients in pre-op and post-op.
• Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to procedures.
• Record patient medical and dental histories and vitals.
• Monitor patient safety during anesthesia/sedation.
• Assist with nitrous oxide administration as needed.
• Document treatment information in patient records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team and prepare patients for procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to protocols.
• Prepare surgical trays and review case details for upcoming surgeries.
• Provide instruments and materials to the surgeon during exams and procedures.
