Allied OMS Kerrville, TX seeks a dedicated Surgical Assistant to support our oral surgeons, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.

The role requires a high school diploma, RDA, CPR/BLS, 1 year surgical/dental assisting, and proficiency with EMR, radiography, and instrument handling; background check may apply. You will sterilize, prepare OR, assist with anesthesia, manage instruments, and help with scheduling and insurance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant or surgical technology program preferred.
• Current RDA certification required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required; DAANCE certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year in a surgical or dental assisting role, preferably in oral & maxillofacial surgery.
• Proficiency in EMR, radiography, and surgical instrument handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment per OSHA guidelines.
• Set up operating room with tools, supplies, and medications.
• Review patient histories and preoperative instructions; provide education.
• Assist in anesthesia administration under surgeon supervision.
• Assist during procedures by handling instruments and maintaining a clear field.
• Monitor patient vital signs and ensure safety throughout surgery.
• Postoperative care and patient instructions; schedule follow-ups.
