We seek a fun, hardworking, compassionate team player to help grow our practice and serve our community's oral surgery needs. Previous oral surgery experience is a plus but not required.

The Surgical Assistant plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring the best clinical outcomes, and meeting patient needs.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures, including tissue retraction, intravenous lines, and documentation.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care.
• Verify patient identity and operative sites.
• Discuss surgical procedures with the surgeon, including consent and operative exposure methods.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Keep the operative field clear using surgical retractors, sponges, suctioning, and irrigation.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
• Inspect and operate sterilization devices for surgical instruments.
• Monitor intraoperative patient status.
• Obtain dental radiographs and imaging.
• Complete patient clinical narratives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification preferred.
• Licensed dental assistant preferred.
• Radiology certification preferred.
