Overview

Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of registered nurses. Responsibilities are delegated by the registered nurses supervising the care.

Additionally, to ensure safety, the seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), chickenpox (varicella), and/or without evidence of Tdap vaccination since 2005. Immunization records will be required. Medical and religious exemptions can be discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment and promote efficient operations.
  • Perform unit secretary/clerical functions.
  • Attend education programs, unit meetings, and committees.
  • Participate in teaching and orientation of new personnel within your skills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; no experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or meet one of the following criteria: enrolled in a nursing program with completed fundamentals, recent nursing licensure attempts, completed UAP program, or equivalent international nursing education awaiting licensure. Some units may require bilingual skills.
  • Required BLS certification upon hire.

Starting Pay

The pay range begins at $17.15/hr, with offers based on education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position requires onsite work at one of our locations; remote work is not available.
