Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a detail-oriented professional to handle patient registrations, ensure funding sources are verified, and schedule surgeries. The role includes responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues related to insurance coverage and scheduling.

Ideal candidates will have experience with registration systems, basic medical terminology, and strong customer service in a healthcare setting. Travel to off-site physician practices may be required, with weekend/holiday/evening shifts

Qualifications

• Experience with computer registration and registration scheduling systems.
• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills applicable to healthcare.
• Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic in the past 2 years (Medical Assistant, registration, or medical billing).
• Familiarity with ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

• Obtain authorizations and verify patient funding to cover services.
• Schedule patients for surgery and respond to inquiries.
