Job summary

BluePearl Veterinary Partners is seeking an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team. The role focuses on preoperative and intraoperative nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, and postoperative client communication within a fast-paced emergency and specialty setting.

Preferred candidates have two or more years of veterinary hospital experience; a rotating on-call schedule is required after training. Sign-on bonus up to $1,000 is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• CVT preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history, weight, and health status.
• Perform pre-anesthetic exams (vitals, bloodwork prep, radiographs).
• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
• Conduct physical exams and monitor vitals.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Recognize and manage adverse anesthetic events with clinician support.
• Place NG tubes and sampling catheters.
• Blood typing and transfusion support as needed.
• Monitor patient responses to fluid therapy and aseptically manage IV lines.
