Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring is seeking an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team. This role requires two years of surgery experience and offers opportunities for growth within a leading veterinary health network.

You will provide nursing care to stable patients, manage IV access and fluids, perform routine exams, and collaborate with the medical team. A rotating on-call schedule applies after training.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of surgery experience
• Experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients per hospital standards.
• Place peripheral IV catheters in cephalic vein when needed.
• Perform physical exams and monitor heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, and breathing.
• Notify doctor when abnormal vital signs are observed.
• Set up and manage intravenous fluids.
• Administer subcutaneous fluids.
• Operate and troubleshoot IV fluid pumps.
• Disconnect/connect patients from IV fluids aseptically.
• Monitor patient response to fluid therapy and detect signs of overload.
