Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients per hospital standards.
• Place peripheral IV catheter in cephalic vein.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vitals (heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate).
• Understand normal vitals and alert doctor to abnormalities.
• Set up intravenous fluids and administer subcutaneous fluids.
• Operate IV fluid pumps, troubleshoot errors.
• Monitor patient response to fluid therapy and signs of overload.
