Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking a skilled Relief Veterinary Assistant to pick up as-needed shifts in our emergency department. Overnight availability is strongly preferred. Pay ranges from $16.50 to $25.30 per hour plus competitive shift differentials.

Differentials apply to nights and weekends, with boosts of up to $4.50/hour. Duties include triage, radiographs, lab work, nursing care, physical exams, phlebotomy, medication administration, ICU management, and client

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary emergency care preferred.
• Ability to perform radiographs and run labs.
• Proficient in triage and patient assessment.
• Strong client communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, including radiographs and laboratory work.
• Provide nursing care in accordance with hospital standards and core values.
• Conduct physical exams with vital signs assessment.
• Phlebotomy and medication administration; monitor responses.
• Manage patients in the ICU or inpatient ward.
• Discharge patients and communicate with clients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPR guidelines and emergency roles.
