You will verify insurance, obtain precertifications, and ensure patients receive clear pre‑op instructions. Requirements include a high school diploma, EMR familiarity (Centricity/Phoenix), and at least 1 year for surgery scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience with Centricity/Phoenix EMR is a plus.
• Proficient in obtaining insurance prior-authorizations.
• At least 1 year of direct surgery scheduling experience.
• Computer literate with strong keyboard skills and EMR experience.
• Background in medical terminology, Orthopedics/Spine preferred.
• Familiar with health insurance plans and benefits.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Pleasant speaking voice and customer service oriented.
• Neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Ability to build effective relationships with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone lines and directs calls; schedules patient appointments.
• Maintains MDs calendar and coordinates surgical procedures.
• Schedules surgeries with hospitals/ASC; coordinates anesthesia and reps.
• Assists with insurance verification and precertification/authorization.
• Communicates financial responsibilities to patients at time of service.
• Enters benefits and authorizations into EMR; collaborates with referral offices.
• Attends staff meetings and supports other schedulers as needed.
