Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. at Chandler Endoscopy Center is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler / Backup Receptionist to manage daily surgery scheduling and patient flow in a fast-paced ASC environment.

The role reports to the Business Office Manager and requires coordination with physicians, anesthesia groups, and OR staff to ensure accurate information and on-time procedures, while delivering exemplary customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hospital or medical office experience.
• Professional communication, verbal and non-verbal.
• Efficient at time management in high-paced environments.
• Demonstrated customer service excellence.
• Strong professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient and accurate processing of information (OR, GI lab, 23-hour stay).
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage.
• Accurately uses procedure codes to ensure proper billing.
• Verifies information entered into system (name, DOB, gender, insurance).
• Ensures all required paperwork for any patient is received by staff.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff.
• Ensures all fields in Advantx are completed.
• Works with OR director to avoid equipment/supply conflicts.
• Alerts administration when new doctors or processes are scheduled.
• Cross trains with other areas.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
• Promotes positive relationships with staff and physicians.
