Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Surgery Support Coordinator to support the Webster location, Texas Urology Specialists. This full-time role, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, has no weekends or major holidays and focuses on internal surgical scheduling under physician direction.

Responsibilities include coordinating OR bookings, pre-operative testing, insurance pre-certifications, and maintaining clear patient communication throughout the process.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of surgical practice/office work experience including insurance authorization, verification and/or scheduling.
• Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care per standards.
• Review medications and health history to support surgical clearance.
• Coordinate and authorize pre-operative clearance testing and imaging.
• Manage documentation in EMR and ensure proper coding and approvals.
• Act as patient advocate and liaise with payors, offices and facilities.
