Job summary

US Oncology Network is seeking a Surgery Support Coordinator to join the Webster location, Texas Urology Specialists. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

The position supports internal surgery scheduling, insurance authorizations, and EMR documentation, reporting to the Texas Urology Specialists team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 0–2 years in surgical scheduling, and strong communication and MS Office skills, with

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
0-2 years of Surgical practice/office work experience including work in insurance authorization, verification and/or scheduling.
Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology required.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
Review patient medications and health history; coordinate pre-operative clearance testing and any diagnostic imaging.
Coordinate, schedule, and authorize pre-operative clearance testing and any diagnostic imaging (e.g., CT, MRI, US, X-Ray).
Scan surgery documents into EMR as applicable (e.g. signed surgery orders, consents, etc.).
Serve as a patient advocate and liaison between patient, payor, office and facility to answer questions and address issues.
Ensure reports (Pathology, OR, etc.) are captured in chart and pathology reports are available.
Schedule any needed appointments not already scheduled, either self or via Physician clinic scheduler.
Sequence, prioritize, follow up, and multi-task across multiple provider inputs.
