Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Surgery Support Coordinator to join the Texas Urology Specialists team in Webster, TX. This full-time role supports internal surgery scheduling, pre-operative coordination, and patient communications while ensuring compliance with CPT/ICD-10 codes and insurance pre-authorization.

Under supervision, you will calendar operating room time, arrange anesthesia and surgical staff, review patient histories, and document in EMR.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of surgical practice/office work experience including insurance authorization, verification and/or scheduling

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Review medications and health history; may impact surgical clearance from other care providers.
• Coordinate, schedule, and authorize pre-operative clearance testing and imaging.
• Scan surgery documents into EMR as applicable (e.g. signed surgery orders, consents, cardiac clearance, authorizations).
• Serve as a patient advocate and liaison between patient, payor, office and facility to answer questions and elevate issues.
• Ensure reports are captured in chart (Pathology, OR, etc.).
• Sequence, prioritize, and multi-task with multiple provider inputs.
