Job summary

SCA Health in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a dedicated Medical Office Scheduling Clerk to support the facility with surgery scheduling, registrations, and billing tasks. You will work with physicians, staff, and patients to ensure accurate scheduling and smooth operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years in health care and 1+ year in surgery scheduling preferred; ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexible hours to cover shifts; and strong

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum three years in health care and minimum one year in surgery scheduling preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as function within a team.
• Flexible hours and shifts; capable of handling stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the facility by performing specific or various business office functions such as Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, and more.
• Schedule surgeries in the surgery template and manage calls from physician offices regarding scheduling.
• Answer phones professionally, assist physician offices and patients, and transfer calls as needed.
• Complete pre-registration and obtain required authorizations prior to surgery scheduling.
• Maintain logs for cancelled appointments and ensure documentation in the patient account.
• Perform clerical duties including copying, mailing, chart preparation, faxing, and file management.
