Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage all aspects of the surgery process, including insurance verification, pre-operative certifications, and coordinating pre-surgery labs and post-surgery care. The role supports efficient scheduling and adherence to hospital protocols.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CMA preferred, CPR required, and at least five years in a physician office with surgery scheduling experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• CMA certification preferred; CPR required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a physician office with previous surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.
• Occasional local travel to support other offices.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to and supports Tenet Physician Resources policies and compliance programs.
• Triage surgical candidates as required by physicians.
• Educate patients about planned surgery.
• Verify insurance information in the electronic system.
• Obtain insurance authorizations as required by individual plans prior to surgery.
• Obtain medical clearances and coordinate preoperative testing with surgeons.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to obtain necessary information for scheduling.
• Notify manager of patient account and insurance issues.
• Provide assistance to staff as needed.
