Duly Health and Care in Glen Ellyn, IL is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join a physician-led team focused on patient-centered care. You will greet patients, coordinate pre-op testing, manage scheduling, and serve as the single point of contact for internal staff and facilities.

The role requires 2+ years in surgery scheduling or related customer service. The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.35-$24.52 per hour, with additional incentives; benefits cover medical,

Qualifications

• Medical terminology, verbal and written.
• CPT and ICD-9 coding.
• Referral process.
• Must have the ability to learn new computer programs.
• Act professionally towards customers, physicians, and co-workers.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
• Must posses time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly manner whether on the phone or in person.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal physicians and with scheduling staff at facilities.
• Verify patient personal and insurance information – coordinate pre-op testing per insurance.
• Single point-of-contact for internal staff and external inquiries for all scheduled procedures.
• Schedule and/or reschedule pre-op lab and/or other testing before procedures and surgeries if necessary.
• Contact patient to confirm procedure/surgery.
• Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate.
• Prepare all essential paperwork for referral coordinator and facilities.
• Verify daily doctor’s schedules, print and distribute to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality.
• Work with billing staff to ensure all procedures are charged.
• Cover/fill-in for co-workers as needed.
• Track case volume and direct cases to facilities per direction of management team
