Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year working in medical insurance or healthcare; previous surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance information in the electronic system and obtain necessary authorizations for surgery.
• Coordinate pre-operative labs, testing, and preoperative requirements with hospital staff and physicians.
• Schedule patients for pre-operative and post-operative activities and coordinate care with surgeons and administrative staff.
• Educate patients about planned surgery and related processes.
• Support compliance with HIPAA and Tenet corporate policies.
