Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in medical insurance or healthcare; prior surgery scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to mission, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
• Follow HIPAA compliance and confidentiality requirements.
• Support corporate compliance program and report issues as needed.
• Triage surgical candidates as required by physicians.
• Coordinate with hospital staff for surgery scheduling information.
• Educate patients about planned surgery.
• Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations prior to surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons for medical clearances and preop testing.
• Manage return appointments; notify manager of issues.
• Assist administrative or clinical staff with other duties.
