Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a healthcare scheduling role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) scheduling preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak conversational English.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes facility paperwork.
• Obtains scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers or callbacks.
• Schedules surgeries with physicians and physician office staff using the method designated by the facility.
• Calls designated departments with information for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted to the hospital and prepares and sends reservations for each case scheduled within established timeframes.
• Responds to multiple inquiries from telephone, intercom, and direct communication regarding scheduling of surgery and the main operating room suite.
