Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to support an Asheville Cardiology practice. The role focuses on clerical workflow, securing authorizations, scheduling OR time, and coordinating with facilities and staff to ensure efficient patient care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least one year in a medical office setting; BLS may be required per practice standards. This on-site position supports comprehensive patient services within the HCA Healthcare system.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
• BLS may be required as per practice standard.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information from practice staff as required for treatment of the patient.
• Prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices to patients.
• Determine OR time needed for the procedure and coordinate scheduling with the Facility; ensure anesthesia coverage as needed.
• Ensure scheduling packets are correct and timely.
• Obtain patient face sheets from Insurance Verification to obtain necessary authorizations based on insurance types.
• Obtain authorization notes from Facility and scans into medical record or practice management system.
