Job summary

Sabates Eye Centers in Leawood, KS is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate office-based and hospital procedures aligned with patient diagnoses and provider orders.

The role requires recent surgery scheduling experience, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills. You will work with patients, providers, and hospital staff, update the EMR, obtain authorizations, and schedule tests while ensuring clear instructions and patient readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in surgery scheduling is required.
• Strong customer service skills and organization.
• Favorable background check results.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office- and hospital-based medical procedures for patients with provider orders.
• Schedule diagnostic and imaging tests as needed.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and anesthesia groups for on-site requirements.
• Enter scheduling notes and instructions in the EMR with accuracy.
• Provide pre-procedure information to patients and confirm arrivals and preparations.
• Obtain prior authorization from insurance providers or communicate needs for authorization.
