Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical appointments across specialties, using Epic work queues and coordinating preoperative services. You will partner with surgeons, APPs, nurses, and care teams to ensure timely access and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years in J2235 Patient Access O2.
• Certification: CHAA or CRCR required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical appointments and related scheduling activities through Epic work queues.
• Schedule surgical procedures, preoperative appointments, provider visits, imaging, and labs.
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out as needed.
• Respond to patient calls and appointment inquiries with professionalism and compassion.
• Collaborate with surgeons, APPs, nurses, and care team members.
• Ensure appointments are coordinated per provider instructions and clinical protocols.
• Support efficient patient flow and maximize scheduling capacity and access to care.
• Communicate scheduling updates to patients and clinical partners.
