Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking a Day shift, PRN Surgery Scheduler in Tyler, TX to coordinate and schedule all surgical procedures within the hospital's Surgical Services, Main OR, Olympic OR, and CVOR.

Responsibilities include confirming anesthesia and OR availability, coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, and ensuring accurate, timely scheduling while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Familiarity with EHR and Epic scheduling systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of hospital scheduling environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for Surgical Services, Main OR, Olympic OR, and CVOR.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure timely, accurate scheduling.
• Verify availability of anesthesia, OR, equipment, and supplies to avoid conflicts and ensure HIPAA compliance.
