Qualifikationen

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years in a medical office environment with exposure to physician billing, medical collections, coding and surgery scheduling/patient access.
• Preferred: 2 years of college and 1 year of healthcare scheduling/surgery scheduling.

Aufgaben

• Schedule patient surgical procedures across entities in line with protocols.
• Coordinate pre-certification and insurance requirements for procedures.
• Enter scheduling, insurance and registration data accurately into systems.
• Manage surgical block time and alert surgeons to unused time.
• Coordinate tissue requests with Tissue Bank/Transplant Services for timely delivery.
• Coordinate materials/equipment needed for surgery with surgeons to avoid delays.
• Assist with researching and resolving insurance payment denials when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
